A warning letter is FDA telling a company what the agency believes it found. It is not a court ruling and not proof that anyone was harmed.

A seller missing from this list is a seller FDA has published no letter about. That is all it means. Many sites selling these drugs are not registered with FDA at all, so nothing they do produces a letter in the first place.

Read from FDA’s published warning letters on 12 August 2026.

Nothing below is our description of a company. Every column is FDA’s own: its subject line, its two dates, and its close-out column. We add no adjective and we link no seller. The only outbound link on this page is to FDA.

How to read this page

The rows are exact FDA fields. The short methodology below explains what the searches catch, what they miss, and why an empty close-out column is not a verdict.

3Read the method and limitssearch shape · missing records · close-out meaning

The shape of the page

Six searches, run against FDA’s own index. It reads the whole text of every letter rather than a drug field, so a letter appears here if it mentions the word anywhere.

Search termLettersLargest group, in FDA’s wordsIn that group
semaglutide141False & Misleading Claims/Misbranded (Telehealth)54
tirzepatide109False & Misleading Claims/Misbranded (Telehealth)50

cagrilintide5Unapproved New Drugs Sold Over the Internet2
glp-148Unlawful Sale of Unapproved and Misbranded Drugs to United States Consumers Over the Internet (Telehealth)13
peptide39Unapproved New Drugs/Misbranded8

The page is recent. FDA issued 62 of the semaglutide letters in 2026 alone, and the years before that are much thinner. This is a young enforcement picture rather than a settled one.

Why every count here is a floor

FDA’s index searches the words in a letter. A letter that misspells the drug is therefore invisible to a drug search, including FDA’s own.

The letter to FormPour is the example. The letter spells the drug class GLT-1 rather than GLP-1. FDA’s own index returns nothing for GLT-1, so no drug search on this site or anyone else’s finds this letter. We found it by company name and it is in the table below. There is no way to know how many others are hiding the same way.

That letter, and every search that misses it is set out term by term on its own page. Many sites selling these drugs are not registered with FDA at all, so nothing they do produces a letter.

Letters get closed out

A company answers a letter, FDA reviews what it did, and FDA can publish a close-out letter saying the matter is resolved. Of the 150 letters below, 2 carry one. Each is marked in its own row with the date.

An empty close-out column is not the opposite. A close-out letter is something a company has to ask FDA for, and plenty of resolved matters never get one. The column shows what FDA has published and nothing more.

Telehealth sellers — what they said

FDA says the company made claims about a drug that its advertising could not support, or promoted a drug for a use no label covers.

Questions people actually ask

Does a warning letter mean a company broke the law?

A warning letter is FDA telling a company what the agency believes it found. It is not a court ruling and not proof that anyone was harmed. Companies answer these letters, and FDA closes some of them out.

My seller is not on this list. Is that good news?

A seller missing from this list is a seller FDA has published no letter about. That is all it means. Many sites selling these drugs are not registered with FDA at all, so nothing they do produces a letter in the first place.

Why do only the last two years get named?

Older letters still count in the totals above, because a total is a fact about the record. Naming a company is different. A business named in an old letter has had years to resolve it, and FDA does not always publish a close-out when it does.

Are the manufacturers in here too?

Yes. Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk have both received letters about how these drugs were advertised, and one of the Novo Nordisk letters is about how it reported side effects. They sit in the same table as everybody else.

Where can I check this myself?

FDA publishes the whole record and it is searchable. Every row above links to FDA’s own page for that letter, and the index itself takes a company name or a drug name.

2Scope and reviewWhat this enforcement record cannot establish, and how it is checked

What a warning letter cannot tell you

  • A warning letter is FDA telling a company what the agency believes it found. It is not a court ruling and not proof that anyone was harmed.
  • Companies answer these letters and matters get resolved. Where FDA has published a close-out letter, the date sits beside the letter. FDA issues one only after it has checked that the fix was actually made rather than promised.
  • An empty close-out column does not mean a matter is open. FDA says it issues no close-out letter at all where a violation is by its nature not correctable, and the program only covers letters issued from September 2009 onward.
  • A seller missing from this list is a seller FDA has published no letter about. That is all it means. Many sites selling these drugs are not registered with FDA at all, so nothing they do produces a letter in the first place.
  • The search reads FDA’s full text, so a letter appears here if the drug is mentioned anywhere in it. That is not always what the letter was about.
  • This is a dated snapshot of a weekly-moving record, not a live lookup.
  • Letters issued before 12 August 2024 are counted above but not named here.
  • Nothing on this page is a view about any company. Every word in the table is FDA’s.

How we checked these details

Medically reviewed by Jennifer Montecillo, MD · non-practicing medical reviewer

Reviewed 2026-08-12

Every letter in the tables answered a live request at its own FDA address on 12 August 2026; anything that did not was left out rather than published. Two letters matched a search and were held out by hand, because neither is about anyone selling these drugs. The rules behind that are in the editorial policy, and corrections go to contact@healthspanledger.com.
