Side-by-side guide

Compare peptides and GLP-1 medications

Choose a pair to compare approval, dose, results and side effects. Only 3 of the 12 pairs have been tested directly against each other. For the other 9, we keep each drug’s results separate instead of pretending two different studies are a head-to-head trial.

SURMOUNT-5: 751 adults over 72 weeks. Each person moved up to the highest dose they could handle.

Wegovy vs ZepboundProduct comparisonHead-to-head trial

Two FDA-approved products built on these ingredients: the conditions FDA cleared for each product, the people covered, both label titration schedules, and the devices.

Retatrutide vs tirzepatide

No head-to-head trial exists. Each record is reported on its own terms, with its own citation.

SURPASS-2: 1,879 adults over 40 weeks, plus 9 rows read from both FDA labels.

Wegovy vs OzempicProduct comparison

Wegovy and Ozempic are the same drug substance. 4 of 11 label rows come back identical and 7 do not.

Mounjaro vs ZepboundProduct comparison

Mounjaro and Zepbound are the same drug substance. 7 of 11 label rows come back identical and 4 do not.

Zepbound vs OzempicProduct comparison

Two different drugs, 13 rows read from both FDA labels, and no trial that compared this pair.

Wegovy vs MounjaroProduct comparison

Two different drugs, 14 rows read from both FDA labels, and no trial that compared this pair.

GLP-1 pill vs injectionForm comparison

The same molecule in a daily tablet and a weekly shot, across 3 tablet products and two FDA labels. No trial compares the two forms, and the labels’ own switching instructions are the closest thing to an official swap.

What makes a fair comparison?

A direct trial is the strongest way to compare two treatments because the same study tests both. When no direct trial exists, we show each treatment’s evidence in separate columns and label that limit clearly.

Product comparisons use the current FDA labels. Form comparisons focus on practical differences between versions of the same medicine, such as a tablet and an injection.

Using two at once is a separate question, and none of these pages answers it. The combination records cover what happens when someone stacks two, including the searches that show which pairs nobody has ever tested together.

A comparison page holds no clinical values of its own. Every row on one is read at render time from the pages, tools and gradings below.
