Does Zepbound need to be refrigerated?

Zepbound is normally refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). A single-dose pen or vial can stay at up to 30°C (86°F) for 21 days total. Multi-dose vials and KwikPens have a 30-day room-temperature limit. After first use, discard them at the earliest of 30 days total at room temperature, 30 days after first use, or four weekly doses. Never freeze Zepbound.

This is a calendar reminder, not a temperature check. If the label counts separate periods out of the fridge, add those days together; one start date is exact only when the device stayed out continuously. Kept refrigerated instead, the unopened device may be used until the expiration date on the label.

Multi-dose vial or KwikPen, after first use

The label permits either the refrigerator or room temperature once the device is in use, and directs that it be kept in the original carton.

When the window ends: Three limits apply: 30 days at room temperature, 30 days after first use, or four weekly doses. Discard the device when the first limit arrives, even if medicine remains.

A single-dose pen or vial can leave the refrigerator for a trip: the label allows up to a total of 21 days at temperatures not exceeding 30°C (86°F).

What the label does not address

Cooling bags, gel packs and travel coolers. The label sets temperatures, not equipment, and names no cooling product.
Airport security screening and X-ray exposure. The label is silent on screening entirely.
Cabin pressure, altitude and checked baggage. Nothing in the label addresses air travel.
What to do after a single excursion above 30°C (86°F). The Zepbound label sets a ceiling but, unlike the Wegovy label, does not state a discard instruction tied to exceeding it.

What happens if Zepbound freezes?

The label directs that Zepbound not be frozen. It also directs checking the medicine before injecting and not using it if it is frozen or cloudy or contains particles.

Does Zepbound have to stay in its box?

Can Zepbound be used straight from the refrigerator?

What happens if you don't refrigerate tirzepatide?

Can I take my Zepbound 2 days early?

Zepbound’s label allows a change in the weekly injection day if at least 3 days (72 hours) separate the doses. Moving a usual weekly dose two days earlier would leave five days between doses.

The label allows a missed dose within 4 days of the missed date. After that, skip it and return to the usual weekly day. Check an uncertain schedule with your pharmacist or prescriber.

Can you skip a week of Zepbound for vacation?

The label says nothing about holidays or planned skips. It addresses a dose that was missed: give it within 4 days, or skip that week and go back to the usual day.

Travel storage has its own limits: a single-dose pen or vial allows 21 days total at up to 30°C (86°F). An opened KwikPen ends at the earliest of 30 days total at that temperature, 30 days after first use, or four weekly doses. The label does not cover airport screening or checked baggage.
