Approved uses

What is Trulicity approved to treat?

Adults with type 2 diabetes, together with diet and exercise, to improve blood sugar.

Labeled maintenance: 0.75 mg once weekly, raised in steps to 4.5 mg where blood sugar needs more help

Children age 10 and older with type 2 diabetes, together with diet and exercise.

Labeled maintenance: 0.75 mg once weekly, raised once to 1.5 mg where blood sugar needs more help

Adults with type 2 diabetes who have heart or blood vessel disease, or several risk factors for it. This use lowers the risk of heart attack, stroke and heart-related death.

Not an approved use: The label does not cover weight loss or set a dose for it.
