PEG-MGF is a short piece of a growth factor your muscle makes for itself after hard exercise. A polyethylene glycol chain is attached to it, to slow down how fast it clears. It is sold for muscle repair and growth after training.

Nobody has given it to a person in a study. The human research here biopsies muscle and measures what the body makes on its own. Even that research disagrees about whether training raises it at all. The only work on the peptide went onto cultured cells and mice, using a fragment with no glycol chain on it.

No completed controlled human trial has shown which dose works for PEG-MGF. The range people report using is not a study result, tested schedule or recommendation.

What does peg-MGF do for the body?

Nobody has measured what it does in a person, because no study has given it to one. MGF is a splice variant of IGF-1 that muscle transcribes after mechanical loading. The version sold adds a polyethylene glycol chain to its short tail.

The only work on the peptide itself used a 24-amino-acid tail fragment carrying no polyethylene glycol. It made human muscle precursor cells migrate, in a dish and in mice. That fragment is not the molecule sold, and a dish is not a person.

What are MGF peptide side effects?

None exist on the page, and the gap is total rather than partial. A PubMed search on 12 August 2026 covered the conjugate and the native peptide. Nothing it returned gave either one to a person.

The human MGF literature is expression research: it biopsies muscle and measures the messenger RNA the body makes on its own. It also disagrees with itself. One study found that RNA rose 163% after five weeks of resistance training; another found it unchanged.

Who should avoid peptides?

For this one nobody has published an answer. No document exists that would carry it. An approved label is where such a list lives, and neither form appears in any pharmacopeia.

No sponsor has filed to test either form. And no label a buyer sees states how much polyethylene glycol is attached. So two vials sold under one name are not necessarily one substance.

What is the half-life of PEG-MGF?

No paper reports one, for the conjugate or for the native splice variant. Attaching polyethylene glycol is meant to slow clearance, but that is a design intent rather than a measurement.
