How to reconstitute Survodutide 5 mg

Put 1 mL of bacteriostatic water into the 5 mg Survodutide vial. That makes 5.00 mg/mL. A 4.8 mg dose is then 96.0 units on a U-100 syringe.

That volume is the one that lands the draw on a syringe line, so the reading can be checked by eye. More water makes a weaker mix and a bigger draw. Less water makes a stronger mix and a smaller one. The amount of Survodutide in the glass never changes. Only the number of marks it takes does.

What is Survodutide?

Survodutide is an experimental weekly injection being studied for weight loss and a liver disease called MASH. It acts on GLP-1 and glucagon signals.

Straight arithmetic: concentration = 5 mg ÷ water, and 1 U-100 unit = 0.01 mL. The example column shows the math at 4.8 mg; it is not a dose recommendation.

Which volume to use is a practical choice rather than a dose. Pick the one that puts your draw somewhere you can actually read it on the syringe. The flags in the last column mark where that fails. “Hard to measure” means the draw is too small to judge by eye. “Won’t fit” means it is bigger than one U-100 syringe holds.

A single-dose vial, and one volume that will not fit

The worked amount uses nearly the whole vial. With the larger water amount, the draw exceeds the capacity of a U-100 syringe.

One dose in, one dose out

The vial holds one full draw at the worked amount, and the remainder is not enough for a second.

It also settles the storage question by removing it: a vial that empties immediately never reaches the point where how long it keeps would matter.

The strength you mix to is therefore the only decision on this page that changes anything. There is no second dose to plan around and no supply to ration.

The larger volume overruns the syringe

Spread this vial through the larger listed volume and the dose needs the best part of two full barrels. The table flags the row rather than hiding it.

Everywhere else on this site adding water is the cautious choice. Here it is the choice that makes one injection into two draws.

Less water is the direction on this compound

Survodutide’s studied amounts are large in milligrams, so the usual instinct to dilute works against you. The stronger mix is the one that keeps a dose inside a single syringe.

That rule of thumb holds for this compound and fails for most of its neighbors. It belongs on this page rather than in a general guide.

How do you mix it, step by step?

  1. Wipe both stoppers with an alcohol swab and let them dry.
  2. Draw up the water volume you picked from the table.
  3. Let the water run slowly down the inside wall of the Survodutide vial, rather than jetting it onto the powder.
  4. Swirl gently until it dissolves. Shaking damages peptides.
  5. Store it as the dispensing label directs. What happens after mixing differs by product — some labels direct against refrigerating the mixed solution at all.
