Glutathione injections, IVs and supplements
Glutathione is an antioxidant your body makes. It is sold as pills, skin products, inhalers, IV infusions and injections. Those forms are not interchangeable. There is no FDA-approved glutathione injection.

It is made from three amino acids and helps cells handle normal chemical reactions. It is not a peptide treatment in this site’s compound directory. Clinics may group it with peptides, but that does not make the evidence or dosing interchangeable.

What matters first
Start with the form
Five products can share one ingredient name
A result from one form does not prove the others work. Match every claim to the exact product and the way it was taken.

Common reasons people look it up
What people hope it will do
What the evidence answers
What human studies actually tested
FDA reviewed 24 proposed uses and found no available evidence or too little evidence to support them. The human IV trials below asked narrow questions in people with artery or heart problems. They did not test a routine wellness visit.
Two examples of the human evidence
What the IV trials found—and what they did not
The protocol stays beside the result so a hospital study cannot quietly become a spa schedule.
Who was studied
40 adults with peripheral artery disease
- What they received
- What researchers measured
- What they reported
- What this does not prove

Safety and product quality
Two product events, kept in their proper scope
These events matter, but neither one supplies a side-effect rate for every form or every pharmacy.
2019 FDA compounding alert
The ingredient was not suitable for sterile injection
2026 company recall announcement
One compounded injection lot was recalled
What remains unknown
The biggest claims still need the right trials
- Whether routine IV visits improve energy, immunity or healthy aging.
- Whether IV glutathione safely lightens skin over long-term use.
- Whether oral, liposomal and injected forms produce comparable results.
- What long-term safety looks like for repeated wellness use.
