What Rybelsus costs, and who each price is for
A month of Rybelsus costs $25 if your commercial plan covers it. Novo Nordisk prints a list price of $997.58 a bottle, and has told the FDA it is stopping all three strengths.

What matters first
Medically reviewed by Jennifer Montecillo, MD · non-practicing medical reviewerReviewed 2026-08-13every price here is sourced
Every price here was read from the manufacturer’s own program terms on 2026-08-13. Those terms say they can change at any time, without notice. The terms name no end date, which is not the same as lasting: the same terms let the manufacturer change or drop the offer whenever it likes.
What does Rybelsus cost if your plan covers it?
The offer is alive on a product being withdrawn, which is the oddest thing on this page. If your plan covers Rybelsus you pay as little as $25, and the offer pays up to $100 a month, $200 for two or $300 for three. A month here is 30 days rather than 28, which is how a tablet counted in bottles differs from a shot counted in pens. The starting strength is handled separately: 3 mg is capped at one month per redemption, so nobody can stock up on the run-in at card prices. Novo Nordisk’s terms name no end date for any of this.
| Your situation | What Rybelsus costs | What the card pays | Fills a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial insurance that covers Rybelsus, at 7 mg or 14 mg | As little as $25 for a 1-month, 2-month or 3-month fill | The offer pays up to $100 a month, $200 for two months or $300 for three | Not stated |
| Commercial insurance that covers Rybelsus, at the 3 mg starting strength | As little as $25 for a 1-month fill | The offer pays up to $100, and one month is the most it will cover per redemption | Not stated |

What is the list price of Rybelsus?
Novo Nordisk publishes one, which most manufacturers here do not. It is the price before any rebate, and it is what the same company says an uninsured reader may end up paying.
$997.58 — per package, and the same at 3 mg, 7 mg and 14 mg.

What does Rybelsus cost without insurance?
Novo Nordisk publishes the list price and tells an uninsured reader they may pay it, plus whatever the pharmacy adds. There is no discounted cash lane of the kind Wegovy and Ozempic have. The price is flat across all three strengths, so moving up the ladder costs nothing and moving down saves nothing.
The thing to weigh against that price is the notice behind it. The FDA shortage register lists all three Rybelsus strengths as to be discontinued, with the reason given in one line: they are being replaced by Ozempic tablets. Those tablets are not a milligram-for-milligram swap. The label that now covers both says 7 mg of one matches 4 mg of the other.
Novo Nordisk publishes no cash price for Rybelsus.
Novo Nordisk publishes no discounted cash price for Rybelsus. Its answer for a reader with no health plan is the list price plus whatever the pharmacy adds, and a suggestion to compare pharmacies. That is a pointer rather than a price, and the figure it points at is the one recorded above.
What if you are on Medicare?
Rybelsus is not in the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. Medicare rules out anyone whose reason for taking a GLP-1 is type 2 diabetes, which is the only reason this tablet is licensed for.
Rybelsus is licensed for type 2 diabetes, so the Bridge rules it out on the same clause that rules out Ozempic and Mounjaro. The savings offer rules out government coverage too, and counts anyone holding both a commercial and a government plan as government-insured. Novo Nordisk’s own answer for a Medicare reader is the Low-Income Subsidy, also called Extra Help, rather than anything the company runs.

Can you use the card at all?
Novo Nordisk sets conditions beyond the exclusion above, and you attest to all of them when you enroll. Getting one wrong is what turns a $25 month into a full-price one.
- You have commercial insurance that covers Rybelsus. The terms exclude full cash-paying patients.
- A month here means 30 days, and the 3 mg starting strength is limited to one month per redemption.
- For the $25 three-month price, the prescription must be written and dispensed for three months and your plan must cover a three-month fill.
- Novo Nordisk names three plan types that do NOT count as government programs here, so they keep the offer: the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, health exchange plans, and state employee plans.
Novo Nordisk’s terms for this offer name no end date. That is not a promise it will last: the same terms let the company change or drop the offer at any time, and the product itself is being withdrawn.
We do not print a code, and there is none to print. The card is issued by Novo Nordisk to you, after you say you meet those terms. Nothing on this page is an offer, and we do not supply, arrange or guarantee any discount.
What makes Rybelsus different on price
The list price is the same $997.58 whether the bottle holds 3 mg tablets or 14 mg ones. Nearly five times the drug, for the same money, from the same page. The 3 mg strength is the one the label says does not control blood sugar at all.
Rybelsus is semaglutide from Novo Nordisk, approved under NDA 213051. Its price ladder tracks its dose ladder, which starts at 3 mg and stops at 14 mg. That is why a quote taken in your first month is a quote for a dose you are meant to leave.

- Whether Rybelsus has a generic reads the answer off FDA’s approval file, and puts what a pharmacy pays for the copy beside what it pays for the brand.
- What all of these cost, side by side puts this price next to every other one on the site.
