What does a GLP-1 cost at Costco, CVS or Walmart?
There is no reliable nationwide price to quote. The total changes with the exact product, strength, quantity, location, insurance claim and date. Costco and Amazon show estimates. CVS, Walmart, Walgreens and Sam’s Club require an account, a local check, or a discount tool that is not the pharmacy’s stable cash price.

What matters first
What can you check before going to the counter?
Two chains expose a useful public estimate. The rest require your account, your plan or the local pharmacy before the price is real.
| Pharmacy | What its public material supports | How to get the current total |
|---|---|---|
| CostcoOfficial customer-service page answered HTTP 200. | Its own search can show Costco pricing when available. Costco says the result may vary by location and can change. | Search the exact drug and strength, set the location, then ask the pharmacy to confirm the current total. |
| Amazon PharmacyOfficial pricing page answered HTTP 200. | It shows an estimated cash price and an estimated insurance price before payment. The final copay comes from the plan. | Use the exact product page and compare the no-insurance estimate with the final insured price in the pharmacy cart. |
| CVSOfficial help page was readable in search but refused the direct recheck with HTTP 403. | Its help material says cash prices are not posted online and the out-of-pocket total is known after the claim or order is processed. | Ask the local pharmacy for the cash total and have it process your own insurance for the insured total. |
| WalmartOfficial help URL redirected the direct recheck to a block page. | Its help material says a verified account can show a refill estimate based on the last paid refill. That is not a nationwide posted cash price. | Check the verified pharmacy account or call the local pharmacy for the current prescription and location. |
| WalgreensOfficial discount-tool page answered HTTP 200; excluded by editorial policy. | The public price finder is a third-party discount-card tool. This site does not reproduce or link discount-card prices. | Ask the local pharmacy for its retail price and have it process your insurance separately. |
| Sam’s ClubOfficial help page refused the direct recheck with HTTP 403. | No current, nationwide GLP-1 cash figure was verified from its public pharmacy material. | Ask the club pharmacy for the exact product, strength and quantity, with and without your insurance. |
Which price are you looking at?
A list price, a pharmacy cash price, an insurance price and a pharmacy acquisition cost answer four different questions.
- Manufacturer list price
- Pharmacy cash price
- Insurance price
- NADAC acquisition cost
The cost index keeps manufacturer figures and federal acquisition costs in their own columns. The coverage guide explains why the insured total cannot be predicted from the insurer’s name alone.
How do you compare two pharmacy quotes fairly?
Hold the prescription and payer constant. A different strength, quantity, location or way of paying is a different price.
- Use the same brand, dosage form, strength and quantity.
- Set the same pickup location or delivery address.
- Compare cash with cash, or have both pharmacies process the same insurance.
- Ask for the final total on the same day. An online estimate is not a guarantee.

The CVS and Sam’s Club help pages returned HTTP 403 on direct recheck. Walmart redirected to a block page. Walgreens’ public tool is a discount-card product, so it is described but not linked. None supplies a stable national GLP-1 cash figure.
