Wegovy pill dosage chart

Wegovy tablets start at 1.5 mg once daily. The label lists 30 days each at 1.5, 4 and 9 mg, followed by 25 mg daily for maintenance. A prescriber may delay an increase if a dose is not well tolerated.

Wegovy tablet dose schedule

The first three strengths are starting steps. The 25 mg dose is ongoing maintenance; it does not end after another 30 days.

Taking a tablet and handling a missed dose

Wegovy, Rybelsus and Ozempic tablets share the same morning routine. Their labels specify an empty stomach, water only and a wait of at least 30 minutes.

  • Once daily in the morning, on an empty stomach.
  • With water only, up to 4 ounces.
  • No more than one tablet per day.
  • Swallow whole. Do not split, crush, chew or dissolve.
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before food, drinks or other oral medicines.
  • If a dose is missed, skip it and take the next dose the following day.

Rybelsus and Ozempic tablets allow a choice from day 61: keep the current dose, or increase if more blood sugar control is needed. Wegovy tablets follow a different schedule to 25 mg.

Rybelsus and Ozempic tablets are approved for blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes, and to reduce major heart and blood vessel events in those at high risk. Their starting doses are not effective for blood sugar control.

Wegovy tablets are approved for weight reduction in adults with obesity, or overweight with a weight-related condition. They are also approved to reduce major heart and blood vessel events in adults with established cardiovascular disease and obesity or overweight.

Some tablet strengths share the same number. That does not make the products interchangeable. The label-specific switching instructions set out the dose and timing for a change.

Does Foundayo use the same instructions?

No. Foundayo (orforglipron) can be taken with or without food. Its label also says to take a missed dose as soon as possible, rather than skip it.

Foundayo has six strengths and a different dose schedule. The first two increases are specified; later increases depend on treatment response and tolerance. The orforglipron dosage guide covers those steps, drug interactions and missed doses.

A prescriber chooses whether a switch is appropriate. These are the specific dose pairs and timing printed in the labels; they are not a general milligram conversion.

The Rybelsus-to-Ozempic tablet pairs work in either direction. Their label excludes switching during the first 30 days of treatment.

What this chart cannot tell you

The label provides a schedule. It cannot decide which product or dose suits you, or how well a treatment will work for you.

  • Product strengths are not a common dose scale. A change between products needs its own label instructions.
  • These schedules do not predict weight loss. Trial results answer a separate question.
  • Pharmacy acquisition costs do not establish your out-of-pocket price.
