AHK-Cu is three amino acids holding a copper ion. It differs from the better-known GHK-Cu by a single amino acid, and the two get confused constantly. It is sold mainly for hair — thicker growth, less shedding — as powder for injection or in scalp serums.

One study of it exists in the indexed literature, published in 2007. It treated human hair follicles kept alive in a dish, not people. The follicles grew longer, and the cell-death finding the authors chased was not statistically significant. No trial registry lists it.

No completed controlled human trial has shown which dose works for AHK-Cu. There is no study-backed human dosing program to publish. Animal quantities are not converted into a human recommendation.

One paper, about a dish, and one letter away from a different molecule

The indexed literature on this peptide is a single study, published almost twenty years ago. It treated hair follicles kept alive outside a body, and cells grown from the base of a follicle. Nobody has been given it in a published study since, so this tool has no human quantity to convert.

Human tissue is not a human

The phrase that does the damage here is human hair follicles. Quoted on its own it reads like a trial, and the study was nothing of the kind. The follicles were removed, kept alive in a bath, and watched.

A strength in a bath is not an amount in a person

The only figures the literature holds for this peptide describe how concentrated that liquid was. Turning one into a quantity someone could receive needs to know how a body spreads and clears it, and nobody has measured that.

Do not read across from the copper peptide next door

GHK-Cu differs from this molecule by one amino acid and by an entire body of evidence. It has controlled trials in people, decades as a cosmetic ingredient, a regulator’s written assessment of the injectable form, and a committee date ahead of it.

Numbers do circulate, and their only source is a shop

Amounts for this peptide are easy to find. Every one traced by this project led to a page selling it. That is not a source, and repeating it without the link does not make it one.

How the math works

  1. Concentration — divide the amount in the vial by the water you added: mg ÷ mL = mg/mL. This tells you how many mg are in each mL.
  2. Volume — the dose divided by that concentration: dose ÷ (mg/mL) = mL.
  3. Units — on a U-100 syringe one unit is 0.01 mL, so mL × 100 = units. A U-40 unit is 0.025 mL, so the wrong barrel is a 2.5× error. That is why the calculator asks which one you have.
  4. Rounding gap — the exact draw against the nearest syringe line: |exact − nearest line| ÷ exact × 100 = % difference.
