What does Wegovy cost if your plan covers it?
Novo Nordisk runs one offer across both forms, so the pen and the tablet reach the same $25. What differs underneath is the unit. For the shot a month means a box of four pens and 28 days; for the tablet it means a bottle of 30 and 30 days. That two-day gap sounds like nothing and is worth about a fill a year. The offer also refuses to stack: the terms rule out combining it with any other coupon, self-pay discount or voucher, so the card and the cash price are a choice rather than a pair.

What does Wegovy cost without insurance?
The advertised price of the Wegovy pill is misleading in one specific way. Novo Nordisk lists the tablet from $149. That is the real price of the 1.5 mg bottle. The label keeps you on that strength for 30 days and then steps up. It settles at 25 mg, and that bottle is $299.
The price is $149 in month one and $299 from month four—not $149 every month. For the pen, new participants pay $199 for two fills and $349 afterward.

The catch on that price
The $199 pen price is for people new to the offer, and it covers two fills. The third is $349. The tablet ladder climbs the same way: the price people quote is the strength you start on, not the one you stay on.
Novo Nordisk lets people with government coverage buy at these prices, on conditions. Its terms say you must not ask your insurer to pay you back, and must not count the money toward your deductible or out-of-pocket limit.
What if you are on Medicare?
Medicare covers Wegovy under the GLP-1 Bridge at $50 a month, and unlike Zepbound it covers every strength of both the pen and the tablet.
Wegovy is the best-covered of the four on Medicare. The Bridge takes every strength of the pen and the tablet at $50 a month. That is the one place on this page where the government route beats every commercial one. Novo Nordisk also lets people with government coverage buy at its cash prices, on two conditions. You must not claim the money back, and must not count it toward your deductible.
The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge runs from 2026-07-01 to 2027-12-31, at $50 a month. Two things about it cost money and are easy to miss.
- The Part D deductible does not apply, and no part of the $50 counts toward your out-of-pocket limit.
- There is no low-income subsidy on it, so people who get help with drug costs may pay more here than under their plan.

What does a pharmacy pay for Wegovy?
Wegovy is sold in two forms, and the federal file prices them within a few dollars of each other. A month of pens and a month of tablets cost a pharmacy almost exactly the same. Whatever the tablet is, it is not the cheap version of the shot.
That matters because the counter prices are far apart. Novo Nordisk starts the tablet at $149 and the pen at $349. That gap is a decision about what to charge. It is not a difference in what the drug costs to obtain.

Read down the single-dose pen table and the dose stops mattering. Every strength sits within 0.02 percent of every other, from $1,306.72 to $1,306.92 a month. What a pharmacy pays does not climb as the dose does.

What this number is not
- It is an acquisition cost, not a patient price. What you pay is set by your plan, your pharmacy and any manufacturer program you qualify for, and none of those are in this file.
- CMS prices these products per milliliter or per tablet. Any monthly figure on this site is our arithmetic on top of that, using the package size from the product’s own label, and it is labeled as derived wherever it appears.
- Wholesalers, pharmacy benefit managers, plans and manufacturers settle further amounts between themselves that are not public. A difference between what a pharmacy pays and what anyone is charged is not evidence of wrongdoing, and this site does not present it as one.
- Each row carries its own effective date, and CMS marks whether the figure came from the latest survey or was carried forward from an earlier file. Both are printed rather than averaged away.

Novo Nordisk sets conditions beyond the exclusion above, and you attest to all of them when you enroll. Getting one wrong is what turns a $25 month into a full-price one.

Wegovy is the only one of the four sold as a tablet as well as a shot, and the two are priced apart. The advertised $149 tablet is the 1.5 mg starting strength, which the label runs for 30 days before moving up. The dose people settle on is 25 mg, and that one is $299.
Wegovy is semaglutide from Novo Nordisk, approved under NDA 215256. Its price ladder tracks its dose ladder, which starts at 0.25 mg and stops at 7.2 mg. That is why a quote taken in your first month is a quote for a dose you are meant to leave.
